Job Title - Network Configuration Manager
Location - Stevenage
Salary - £40k - £45k
Company Details - Our client is a service provider, who is delivering a secure global military satellite communications infrastructure. They are providing a range of services, including global mobile voice communications, video conferencing, multimedia-based communications and broadcast communications. Their Services are being used by the UK's armed forces, and are available to government departments and other agencies and organisations that require secure communications.
Job Role - The Network Configuration Manager is to develop, implement and manage the configuration control process for networks, implement and own the support systems to enable network configuration management and to manage change control on the network. The Network Configuration Manager must ensure that records of the network are accurate and up-to-date; implement change control and process to ensure any changes to the network are suitably agreed in advance and manage the design review process and functions ensuring optimum integration across all process and toolsets. The Network Configuration Manager will manage the service release and patch management processes and manage the configuration management team.
Essential Skills - 5 + years experience in a telecommunications environment. Experience of configuration management in a similar role and experience in the implementation or operation of configuration management support systems.
Desirable Skills - Security Cleared. Previous experience in a military communications environment. Knowledge of satellite communications systems. |

Job Description
AOCS/GNC Engineer (Attitude and
Orbital Control System/Guidance,
Navigation and Control)
Site: Stevenage
An experienced engineer is required
to join a team of AOCS/GNC analysts
to work on current and future space
missions. The job is a stimulating
blend of design, analysis and
algorithm development. The
successful candidate will be
expected to have some experience in
spacecraft AOCS design and have
the potential to guide other GNC
engineers.
The successful candidate will have
as a minimum a good degree in a
numerate discipline and preferably
qualifications with space industry or
control engineering content.
Employment experience within the
space industry is essential and
preferably in connection with
AOCS/GNC design and
development. Experience in the use
of Matlab, Simulink and control
engineering is essential and
knowledge of mathematical
modelling, computer simulations and
software development are considered
as highly desirable.
The department provides the
AOCS/GNC engineering analysis and
support to a number of large ESA
projects, including currently Aeolus
(global observations of wind profiles
from space), LISA Pathfinder (paving
the way for the LISA mission by
testing in space the very concept of
gravitational wave detection), Gaia
(to make the largest, most precise
map of our own Galaxy to date) and
ExoMars Rover (a mission to land
and operate an autonomous rover
vehicle on Mars).
Qualifications:
Essential
Good degree or equivalent in a
numerate discipline.
Desirable
Qualifications with control
engineering content.
Higher degree with some relevance
to the space industry.
Skills and Experience:
Essential:
Space industry experience including
AOCS/GNC
Matlab and Simulink experience
Control engineering skills
General computer literacy, including
MS Office.
Excellent written and verbal
communication skills.
The ability to interact comfortably
within a team environment.
