Job Title: Product Group Leader
Location: Aylesbury
Job Code: SP554
Salary: Upto £30k p/a plus Overtime, Dental Plan, Pension
Role summary:
Involved with the effective development and running of an autonomous operational unit to achieve customer satisfaction, quality, delivery and performance.
Principle Accountabilities:
Manage, lead and motivate the teams - maintain daily communication through team meetings and the use of visual management.
Contribute to the strategic planning process of developing the module in line with the business strategy of Lean Manufacturing
Ensure capacity and capability are continually planned in order to meet agreed customer requirements.
Develop and implement specific projects to integrate the module's suppliers and customer, ensuring appropriate application of Lean Manufacturing techniques and principles and development of lean supply chains.
Drive and co-ordinate project improvement activity ensuring effective monitoring and evaluation such that milestone are achieved and hazards are anticipated and resolved .
Ensure the application of TQ and 6 Sigma, such that at all levels opportunities for continuous improvement and cost reduction are identified and acted on.
Responsible for EHS requirements in the product group.
Able to stand in for Operations manager when required to do so.
Personal Characteristics
Can demonstrate an experience of management skills in an operational role within a manufacturing business.
Competent change management skills with a commitment to TQ and 6 Sigma teamworking and continuous improvement.
Energetic and results focused with experience of managing to agreed measures of performance and to tight deadlines.
Excellent communication, planning and influencing skills.
Well developed financial skills including cost control.
Capable of progression through the management structure.
National / International travel will be required as part of this role.

Job Title: Development Engineer
Location: King's Lynn
Salary: £25-£30 k plus benefits
Job Function:
The jobholder will design and develop new products from concept to production, working in a cross-functional team environment alongside sales, planning and manufacturing engineers.
Main Duties:
· Complying with all company policies and procedures including Health, Safety & Environmental
· Creation and evaluation of new product concepts
· Preparation of initial designs using both 3D and 2D CAD
· Evaluation of designs by finite element analysis and other computational methods
· Safety, legal requirements, quality, cost and ease of maintenance to be assessed
· Design of test procedures, analysis of test results and reporting
· Preparation of detail drawings for costing and manufacture
· Coordination of the manufacture and/or sourcing of prototypes for testing and evaluation
· May also work with drawing office personnel on drawings and calculations for customer quotations or proposals
Suggested Qualifications:
Educated to degree level (or equivalent) with experience in design and development using computer aided engineering tools. May also have gained or be working towards Chartered Engineer status.

Job Title: Senior Development Engineer
Location: Bucks - Herts
Salary: Up to £37k p/a plus dental plan, pension & other benefits
Role summary:
To provide development and certification service at all stages of product design from identification of initial opportunity through to successful operation in service. Will involve working in both an office and laboratory environments. Tasks may include but are not limited to the following principle accountabilities:
Personal Characteristics
· A mechanically biased aerospace degree with some electrical experience is desirable. Ratio is approx. 70% mechanical / 30% electrical bias.
· Broad Development / certification knowledge and experience e.g. thorough understanding of all aspects of Development Engineering including Compliance Verification, Technical Risk, compilation of technical documentation, use of instrumentation
· Experienced in MS Excel, Flexpro, and DasyLab.
· Basic knowledge of 3 stage generators
· Good working knowledge of MS Software i.e. Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Project
Principle Accountabilities:
· Design and setting up of mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems and test systems.
· Setting up of electrical wiring to specific impedances.
· Ability to fault find test equipment and test rigs.
· Performing Electrical, Mechanical and Life tests on all products using test cells and other tooling and instrumentation. Design of specific tests for specific criteria.
· Ability to use Data Acquisition systems
· Writing of Technical documentation, including test procedures, Engineering Reports, Compliance Analysis, Equipment Specifications and Production Acceptance Test Specifications.
· Perform data analysis of test results, assess trends to identify and help resolve generator performance issues.
· Provide Technical Development and Certification advice
· Ability to guide and train other engineers as required.
· Raise capital sanctions for high cost items including procurement specifications, financial and technical justification and acceptance test requirements
